HOW THE THIEF’S
SALVATION WAS SURPRISING:

1. UTTER DESPERATION AND HOPELESSNESS—No one ever survived crucifixion. All was lost. The only thing left was excruciating agony.

2. AND YET, WHO IS THIS NEXT TO ME? ISN’T THIS THE ONE WHO CLAIMS TO BE MESSIAH, WHO IS MESSIAH? YES!— “Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’”

3. HIS DESPERATE PRAYER IS ANSWERED— “Jesus answered him, ‘I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.’”
